A misty morning on the north east side of the island, I loved the dense foliage and then was surprised by a pair of horses grazing.
An overcast morning watching waves break over the rocky shore. I love how this image is almost in black and white.
It rained and rained and rained all through the trip, swelling this river into one that rages and races to the sea. I was in awe of the violence of the water.
The same river, leading to Rainbow Falls, the volume of water and crash of thunder captured in an image.
Just north of Hilo there is a small scenic route along the coast. We stopped for smoothies at a roadside stand, then further up the road I saw this image and wanted to capture it. I love the black and white astetic with hints of green. See my paintings page for my attempt to capture this scene again on canvas.
Life, uh, finds a way...even in the volcanic rock of Volcanos National Park, greenery pokes through the seemingly desolate landscape.
